Ms. Legoze provided a brief history of the forum, and emphasized the significance of the ZAIGF in providing stakeholders with a voice. Ms. Legoze's account of the ZAIGF's history revealed the necessity of local perspectives on the digital age.

Mr. Molehe Wesi, the Chief Executive Officer of the ZA Domain Name Authority, began his introductory remarks by welcoming the participants and recognising their contributions.

The ZAIGF Multi-Stakeholder Committee has been instrumental in planning the programme of the annual ZAIGF meetings. We would like to express our gratitude to all past members of the committee who have donated their time, efforts and valuable guidance in ensuring the running of the ZAIGF.
