Thato Moeng

I am an independent cybersecurity consultant, trainer, and researcher with my own management consulting and advisory practice. I evaluate, design,implement, and monitor solutions on risk and information security management, business continuity management, privacy, security training, and ICT Audits for various clients. I have over 20 years of experience in the ICT industry, specializing in digital forensics, ICT audits, Risk Management, and Cybersecurity at the executive and senior levels. Prior to becoming a cybersecurity consultant, I worked in operations and project delivery teams. Throughout my career, I gained extensive experience in Cybersecurity and data communication by working for industry leaders such as Cisco, MacAfee, Norton Antivirus, Kaspersky internet security, Tenable network security, Wireshark, Kali Linux, SolarWinds, PKI Services, and TrueCrypt.

In the past, I have conducted numerous cybersecurity-related engagements and audits across the nation for National Government Departments, Provincial Government Departments, Municipalities, and Private Companies (including the Presidency of South Africa). My work involved both high- and low-security network systems accessible to the public. Regarding cyber security, my guiding principle is that creating more secure systems for everyone facilitates cyber security for the largest stakeholders in the technological arena. I have successfully led and directed large audit teams and managed multiple engagements with enormous budgets. As a result of collaborating with audit firms such as Nexia-SAB&T, Ernst & Young, and the Auditor General, I have developed and acquired strong cybersecurity competencies and solid management skills. I have interacted with Heads of Departments, Director Generals, MECs, Deputy Director Generals, Chief Executive Offices, Chief Financial Officers, Chief Information Officers, Directors, and Audit Committees from various Departments, presenting reports and providing consulting services such as risk assessments and business advisory services.

Her experience includes formulating continental digital development policy frameworks; advising policymakers and regulators on the data-driven digital economy; facilitating engagements to foster partnerships between government, academia, business, international development organisations, and civil society leaders, and co-designing technical assistance projects that leverage disruptive digital technologies to address multi-dimensional structural economic challenges in SSA.

Aluwani Chokoe

Aluwani Chokoe is a 26 year old Bachelor of Commerce Degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Labour Law graduate from the University of Johannesburg, currently pursuing her postgraduate qualification in Public Finance and an advocate of women's rights. She is an Advisory Council Member of the National Youth ICT Council where she also serves as a spokesperson with a collective mandate to make South Africa a global source of Tech-Talent by taking the Fourth Industrial Revolution to Rural South Africa, and a Provincial Coordinator of SAGE (Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship) Gauteng, a global platform for teenage entrepreneurs in a quest to positively contribute to the growth of the South African economy - where they teach teenagers the basics of entrepreneurship, and carry them through an incubation process. She serves as the Provincial Deputy Secretary of the Global Youth Parliament, Gauteng Chapter, and an Editor of a Regional Political Newsletter, The Jozi Cadre, and a Co-author of a book titled "The Africa80" - where 80 young people across Africa speak of solutions to be explored in creating an Africa they envision. Lastly, she is a YALI Alumni - The Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), a signature effort to invest in the next generation of African leaders. She's currently a Deputy Director responsible for Legislature Support and Community Outreach at the Gauteng Department of Economic Development, Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment

Georgina Mamello Hlalele

As a native Mosotho, 34 year old Mother, Daughter and a Student of life (online included) whom is a citizen of South Africa though a product of Africa through many family migrations. Hailing from sales in my mid-20’s at the London School of Investment, my career has moved from various Consulting positions to Transformation Coordination & Management to Project Finance Administration and Chapter Board Member of the Internet Society (ISOC) Gauteng Chapter. In between my professional career, I started ORA (OuRAfrica) Edutainment – with the aim of digitalizing industries to widen their digital footprint, which I have embarking within the funeral industry. As we are already far into the digital era, it is important to embrace the (r)evolution; coordinating and coding, made fun, for kids from Soweto, will forever be a personal fulfilment I hold closest to my heart. And then COVID happened and the rest as should be said, is the future.I am pretty good at, knowing I must be better each day and learn from the previous day in order to perpetuate learning and relearning something, anything, new, each day. It’s in paying attention to even the smallest or what might seem irrelevant detail, where you would find the devil – a character taught to me by my late Father during my volunteer work for StockAid Lesotho, of which he was a board member. As a teenager I manually systemized information retrieved for an initiative named ‘Send a Cow’ and this was done in English and Sotho and a bit of French as some of the stakeholders were French-speakers. People refer to me as ‘Gantt Chart’ as I organize almost my entire existence using this method. I am comfortable and accustomed to working and communicating on various online platforms but I am as comfortable and flexible to travel.

Latty Thlaka

A great leader and servant of the civil society. Latty Thlaka serves not only the civil society sector but youth and communities. She has developed partnerships with municipalities, government institutions and private sector, this includes but is not limited to JB Marks local Municipality, Rustenburg Local Municipality, Mogwase Local Municipality, AVBOB, Central Johannesburg College and National Lotteries Commission. Her strengths are in project and relationship development and management. She is passionate about community and youth development and focuses mainly on ICT and shaping organisation management. She has experience in working with various ICT projects and believes and serves to ensure no one is left behind in the fourth Industrial Revolution. She had the privilege to contribute and head logistics for two Southern African Internet Governance Forums under Sangonet together with Southern African Development Community and OSISA. She is currently the chief executive officer and founder of NGOConnectSA, an organisation that promotes sustainability of civil society organisations. The organisation also the privilege of being an approved grant funding management agent of the National Lotteries Commission. Her contribution to the ZAIGF Board would be in stakeholder relations and also being a voice for youth and civil society.
